Note: The SS has two IP addresses,
one fixed (EasyST/ProST has a pre-configured default IP address (10.0.0.1) and a SMC (secondary management
channel) whose address is allocated via DHCP. The
only way to ping or manage an SS is via the SMC. In order to assign a
secondary management channel the network needs to be connected to a DHCP
Server. Then once the DHCP server has allocated
an IP address on the SMC the SS can be managed and pinged. If using a
management VLAN, then a VLAN entry in the ”Service
Profiles -> VLAN Configurations” section must be created, with
the VLAN number matching the management VLAN ID in order for the SS's
to receive an IP address from the DHCP Server. (It does not matter whether
”tagged” or ”single user” are checked or not.)
