Coupled

Dispatch consoles may be acoustically coupled with each other, which means that the audio is fed from the speaker of one (receiving) console to the microphone of another (transmitting) console. The acoustic feedback, when both consoles are involved in a call on the same resource, can have undesirable audio effects such as echoing at the receiving terminals (consoles/radios).
