IP Simulcast Tab for MLC 8000 Analog Comparator Configuration in an IP Simulcast System

This section provides a table showing the fields on the IP Simulcast Tab for configuration of MLC 8000 Analog Comparators. For each field, the field name, default value, range of values, and field description are provided.

In the following table, all fields are editable unless a note in the description column indicates otherwise.
NoteIf you modify any of the following IP Simulcast Parameters, the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator is restarted to implement the new parameter value.
IP Simulcast Tab Fields for MLC 8000 Analog Comparators in IP Simulcast Systems
Fields Default Value Range of Values Description
Simulcast Launch Time Delay 70 msec 0 to 990 msec Specifies the launch time value that is included in MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU) messages for transmission in an IP Simulcast channel configuration. Set this field to a value that is a multiple of 10. If, for example, Simulcast Launch Time Delay is set to 92 msec, it is run at a value of 90 msec.
NoteThis parameter can only be used in IP Simulcast channels.
Max Deviation Ratio in CSCI (%) 92% 0 to 100 percent Defines transmit deviation as a percentage of the maximum station deviation, for the current channel.
PL/DPL Enable PL PL, DPL, or neither Specifies if either PL or DPL or neither is inserted into the voice stream.
PL/DPL Deviation 20.0 0.0 to 25.0 Specifies the percentage of rated system deviation that is set for PL/DPL.
NoteIf the field PL/DPL is set to either PL or DPL, you can edit this field.
PL/DPL Code None For DPL: 023, 025,026, 031, 032, 043, 047, 051, 054, 065, 071, 072, 073, 074, 114, 115, 116, 125,131, 132,134, 143,152, 155, 17 156, 162, 165, 172,174, 205, 223, 226, 243, 244, 245, 251,261, 263,265, 271, 306, 311,315, 331,343, 346,351, 364, 365, 371, 411, 412, 413, 423, 431, 432, 445, 464, 465, 466, 503, 506, 516, 532, 546, 565, 606, 612, 624, 627, 631, 632, 654, 662, 664, 703, 712, 723, 731, 732, 734, 743, 754 For PL: 67.0(XZ), 69.3(WZ), 71.9(XA), 74.4(WA), 77.0(XB), 79.7(WB), 82.5(YZ), 85.4(YA), 88.5(YB), 91.5(ZZ), 94.8(ZA), 97.4(ZB), 100.0(1Z), 103.5(1A), 107.2(1B), 110.9(2Z), 114.8(2A), 118.8(2B), 123.0(3Z), 127.3(3A), 131.(3B), 136.5(4Z), 141.3(4A), 146.2(4B), 8 151.4(5Z), 156.7(5A), 162.2(5B), 167.9(6Z), 173.8(6A), 179.9(6B), 186.2(7Z), 192.8(7A), 203.5(M1), 206.5 (8Z), 210.7(M2), 218.1(M3), 225.7(M4), 229.1(9Z), 233.6(M5), 241.8(M6), 250.3(M7) This parameter specifies which PL tone or DPL code is included in the voice stream.
NoteThe Configuration Tool displays only the two letters of the PL code on the screen, without the corresponding frequency for the displayed code. For DPL, the three-digit code appears.
Compression Disabled Yes/No When checked, compression and expansion are executed on the voice signal (replaces CSCI functionality).
Pre-emphasis Checked Checked or unchecked When checked, the analog audio is pre-emphasized by passing through a filter with positive 6 db/octave slope before transmission. The signal is de-emphasized on the receiving side.
Hi-Pass Filter Checked (enabled) Checked (enabled) or unchecked (disabled) Specifies whether Hi-Pass Filter is enabled or disabled. When PL or DPL is enabled, the Hi-Pass filter must be enabled and the field is grayed out and shows that it is set to enabled. When neither PL or DPL are set, the field is open for editing. The default is enabled because in most cases it is desirable to clean up low frequencies should they exist. If you must have the low frequencies in the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU) output (towards the MLC 8000 Subsite Link Converter) do not check this field so that Hi-Pass Filter is disabled.
