Subject: HT1250LS+ Radio Does Not Re-Register On PassPort System or Radio Is Unable To Access PassPort
System With A Free Channel

Symptoms: Issue #1: Radio Does Not Re-Register On PassPort System

After detecting a low RSSI level, the radio loses PassPort service and does not re-register with the PassPort system after detecting an acceptable RSSI level. The radio is only able to re-register after resetting the radio (power off and then power on) or if the radio exits and re-enters into the same PassPort zone.

Issue #2: Radio Is Unable To Access PassPort System With A Free Channel

When the radio attempts to access the PassPort system on a busy channel, an inhibit tone is generated after only one system try and the radio does not trunk off even though a free channel is available.

Potential Problem Radios:

Model:        AAH25RDH9DP5_N, AAH25RDH9DP5_NST, AAH25RDH9DP6_N, AAH25RDH9DP6_NST

             AAH25SDH9DP5_N, AAH25SDH9DP5_NST, AAH25SDH9DP6_N, AAH25SDH9DP6_NST

Serial # Range: 749TBGxxxx thru 749TBSxxxx

Cause:
Issue #1: Radio Does Not Re-Register On PassPort System
The PassPort "Disable Roam" option that is programmed by the PassPort Customer Programming Software (PPCPS) is not functioning correctly. When "Disable Roam" is selected, the symptoms of this issue are observed.
Issue #2: Radio Is Unable To Access PassPort System With A Free Channel
The radio does not detect the "trunk off" message from the PassPort system correctly. When this message is not properly detected, the radio continues to attempt a system access on an occupied channel when it should "trunk off" to a free channel. As a result, the symptoms of this issue are observed.

Corrective Action:

Flash the radio's option board with the PassPort Service Pack, version R01.00.00. This will update the PassPort option board firmware to version R01.03.02 and correct the stated issues.
