Subject: Intermittent Frequency Shift on CT250 and CT450 Series Radios
Symptoms:
A user in a high noise environment may intermittently experience the following symptoms.
1) Intermittent poor system access (trunking or conventional)
2) Intermittent poor audio quality (trunking or conventional)
3) Intermittent frequency shift (when measured with a suitable analyzer)
The same symptoms may be experienced if a user is using a low impedance microphone accessory.
Please note that these symptoms may occur very intermittently or not at all depending on how the radio is used.

CT250 and CT450 series radios
can produce a frequency shift, due an open modulation path muting during the first fewmilliseconds of transmit.
Corrective Action:
The radio must be upgraded with the latest version firmware (Version R02.00.04 or later) to correct this issue. The firmware
version in the portable can be found by referencing the rear serial label. This firmware upgrade cannot be done in the field and the
affected units must be sent to one of the Depots for the upgrade.
