A managed HiperMAX ATCA chassis may be configured with either a single or a dual redundant pair of shelf managers
The overall procedure can be performed entirely from the LAT, or partly from the LAT and partly with a local Ethernet connection. The procedure assumes the shelf manager has been correctly inserted and seated and the blue hot-swap LED should be off.
The actions to be executed to perform this procedure are:
1. Connect to the Shelf Manager.
2. Configure the shelf address via LAT/telnet.
3. Configure the root user password via LAT/telnet.
4. Configure the date/time via the LAT/telnet.
5. Configure the IP network definitions via LAT.
This procedure can be performed entirely from the LAT, or partly from the LAT and partly with a local Ethernet connection. The procedure assumes both shelf managers have been correctly inserted and seated. The blue, hot-swap LEDs should be off to indicate this. The active shelf manager status LED should be on and green, the other should be blinking
The actions to be executed to perform this procedure are:
1. Configure the primary (top) shelf manager as described in Single Shelf Manager above.
2. Configure the secondary (bottom) shelf manager as described in Single Shelf Manager above.
3. Switchover from the active to the backup shelf manager
4. Repeat Switchover (to ensure it works in both directions)
