Associating a Base Radio with an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator

Prerequisites:

NoteThis procedure should be repeated until all required base radios are associated with a particular MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU). At the end of the association process, the VGU should have at least one Rx node (either Rx or Rx&Tx) and at least one Tx node (either Tx only or Tx&Rx).

When and where to use:

Use this procedure to associate a base radio to the list for an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator.

Procedure:

  1. From the channel cluster tree displayed on the main menu of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool, click the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU) to which to add the base radio.
  2. Click Update Analog Comparator BR List.
The Configure Analog Comparator BR List window appears.
  3. Click Add BR.
    The Add/Modify BR window appears.
  4. Click Select BR.
A list of unassigned base radios with the type matching the comparator type appears.
  5. Select the base radio you want to assign by clicking it. Click Select.
  6. Select one of the base radios by clicking it. Click Select.
  7. Check Tx&Rx, Tx Only, or Rx Only to specify the type of base radio.
  8. Click OK.
The system adds the base radio to the list for the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator.
NoteAt the end of the association of base radios with a particular MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU), the VGU must have at least one radio that is an Rx node (either Rx or Rx/Tx) and at least one Tx node (either Tx only or Rx/Rx).
  9. Click Apply.
  10. Click Close.
The base radio moves from the unassigned BRs list to the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator and displays as such in the Channel Cluster Tree.
