Installing the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool Software Files
Prerequisites:
- The PC on which the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is installed must meet the minimum requirements. See section PC Host Recommended Requirements for MLC 8000 Configuration Tool with Analog Display and Control.
- The PC must be ready for Configuration Tool installation. See process Installing the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool with Analog Display and Control
- The installation CD for the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is available, or the version of the software you want to install is available on Motorola Online.
When and where to use:
Use this procedure to install the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool with Analog Display and Control software.Procedure:
- Load the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool CD or download the desired version of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool software from Motorola Online: http://businessonline.motorolasolutions.com.
The Motorola Solutions MLC 8000 CT Setup Welcome window opens.
- Click Next.
The End-User License Agreement window opens.
- Click Yes to accept the terms of the license agreement.
NoteOnly a Windows 7 admin user with full control permission is able to install or unistall the Configuration tool in its Destination Directory. A non-admin user is enabled to read files in this folder and run the MLC8000 CT application. The Destination Directory location of the Configuration Tool software must be defined for the full control permission level. The default location of installed Configuration Tool software is
C:\Motorola\MLC8000 CT\
. The MLC 8000 Configuration Tool installer creates Program and Data folders. The Program folder is belowC:\Motorola\MLC8000 CT
and the Data folder is belowC:\ProgramData\Motorola\MLC8000 CT
.To open the MLC 8000 CT application with full control permission, right-click Run as administrator.
The Installing MLC 8000 CT window opens, and the software is installed. The Setup Finished window opens when installation is complete. - Click Finish.
Setup is complete.
- Use the Windows Control Panel Programs and Features page to verify whether or not only one version of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool appears in the list. If more than one version of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool appears, it should be cleaned up.
