Associating a Base Radio with a Digital Comparator
Prerequisites:
- The MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is operational. See procedure Opening the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool.
- The channel cluster for which you want to update the base radio association is open and displayed on the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool main screen.
- The digital comparator to which you want to assign the base radio is already assigned to the channel cluster.
NoteThis procedure should be repeated until all required base radios are associated with a particular digital comparator.
When and where to use:
Use this procedure to associate a base radio with a particular digital comparator.Procedure:
- From the channel cluster tree displayed on the main menu of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool, right-click the base radio you want to associate with a digital comparator. Select Configure Device.
The Modify Device Configuration window appears.
- Click the BR/Console Properties tab.
The BR Properties-related fields appear.
- Select the appropriate Port #.
The associated channel details are displayed.
- Set link type using the drop-down menu in the Link Type field. Choose a link type of either V.24 Link – INTERNAL Tx CLOCK or V.24 Link – EXTERNAL Tx CLOCK.
- In the Associated Channel Details section of the window, use the drop-down list in the Channel Name field to select a channel.
The associated channel number is displayed in the Channel Number field.
- Click Write to Device.
A dialog box appears asking whether you want to apply these changes.
- Click Yes.
The MLC 8000 Subsite Link Converter (AGU) restarts due to this change. On the main screen of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool, the base radio port now displays under the associated digital comparator in the channel cluster tree.
