Adding Radio Users
Use the following instructions to add radio users to the WAVE 3000 Server.
Capacity Plus radio users requiring Private Call capability with broadband clients must be added to the WAVE 3000 Server. Radio users who are not added to the WAVE 3000 Server may still participate on Talk Groups, but will not display an Alias, and cannot initiate or receive Private Calls from broadband clients.
To add a new radio user
1.
Click the Users tab.

The Users page opens displaying the Users list. At initial setup, this page will be empty.

Click the Add New User button.

The Add New User page opens.

Select Radio system user.

In the Alias field, enter the Alias for this radio user. This Alias appears on all WAVE clients when this radio user transmits. This alias is also used on WAVE clients to initiate Private Calls.
Note:
This Alias is only displayed to WAVE clients. For instructions on programming your radio handsets to display an Alias based on Subscriber ID, consult the radio system documentation.

Optionally, add any comments for this user in the Comments field. Comments do not appear outside the WAVE 3000 Server and are for administrative purposes only.
6.
In the Radio Interface: Capacity Plus section, make the following modifications:
A.
In Subscriber ID, enter the unique ID used in the Capacity Plus radio system to identify this radio user.
B.
In Privacy, optionally select a privacy mode for this user. If a Privacy mode is selected, then you must enter a value in Basic Privacy Key.
C.
In Basic Privacy Key, enter the privacy key for this Capacity Plus radio ID. The Privacy Key value can be found in the code plug for the radio.
7.
Click the Save button when you are done.
Important:
Do not click Commit Changes until you have created all Talk Groups and associated them with users. The next two sections provide instructions. If you click Commit Changes now, all users will be invalidated because they have no associated Talk Groups.
