Connecting Physical System Components
This section is a copy of the printed document provided with your WAVE 3000 Server. This copy is provided in the event you must physically move your WAVE 3000 Server but have lost the original printed instructions. If you have already performed this procedure and are ready to begin setup, then see Accessing the XRT 9000/9100 Gateway
This guide provides instructions for connecting the physical hardware components of an WAVE 3000 Server 1.2 and configuring IP addresses for initial connection to a Motorola Connect Plus, Capacity Plus, or Linked Capacity Plus radio system. Upon completion, you will connect with the WAVE 3000 Server over your network using a browser and proceed with the configuration steps in the online help system.

Configuring the WAVE 3000 Server
To configure the WAVE 3000 Server system for first use, you must access the WAVE 3000 Server through NIC 0 using a Windows 7 or 8 PC and an Ethernet cable. This procedure only needs to be done once. After this, you will be able to access the WAVE 3000 Server through NIC 1 over any supported browser on the same network as the WAVE 3000 Server.

On the PC connected to the WAVE 3000 Server, click Start > Control Panel > Network and Internet > Network and Sharing Center.

In the left frame, click Change Adapter Settings.

Click Use the following IP address, and then complete the following steps.

In IP Address, enter 192.168.0.4

In Subnet mask, enter 255.255.255.240

Leave Default gateway blank.

Click the OK button.
Your PC is now configured to connect with the WAVE 3000 Server unit.

Open a web browser and type https://192.168.0.1 in the Address bar to access the WAVE 3000 Server through the default radio adapter IP address.

Click the Setup tab and then click Network Adapters.

Configure the Broadband Adapter with a public IP address, allowing it to connect to the internet so that it can obtain licensing information.

IP Address
Enter an IP address. By default, this address is 192.168.0.2.

Enter a Subnet address. By default, this address is 255.255.255.240.

Default Gateway
Enter a Default Gateway address. By default, this address is 192.168.0.1.

Primary DNS
Enter a primary DNS address. By default, this address is 192.168.0.1.

Secondary DNS
Optionally, enter a Secondary DNS address. By default, this address is 192.168.0.1.

Click the Commit Changes button. Disconnect the WAVE 3000 Server from your PC, and connect the WAVE 3000 Server unit to a local switch or router using one of the Broadband Adapter ports. Do not use both Broadband Adapter ports. You should now be able to access the WAVE 3000 Server unit from any computer on the same network using a browser to navigate to the IP address you supplied for the Broadband Adapter.

If any firewall(s) exist between the WAVE 3000 Server and the external network, then the following ports must be opened.

The Setup > WAVE Mobile Communicator > Connection Port (default 4502) is determined by the WAVE 3000 Administrator.
If any firewall(s) exist between the WAVE 3000 Server and the radio system, then the following ports must be opened.

The XRT Port Number (for Connect Plus radios)

The XRT Port Number (default 10001) is determined by the WAVE 3000 Server Administrator and set in
Setup > Radio System Interface. This port is also configured in the XRT 9000/9100 in Settings > Configuration > Client TCP port. The two port settings must match.
