Initial Setup and Configuration : Obtaining Linked Capacity Plus Information

Obtaining Linked Capacity Plus Information
Some of the fields in WAVE 3000 must match values set in the Linked Capacity Plus radio system. You will require this information during the configuration of WAVE 3000. If your Linked Capacity Plus system was configured by a certified Motorola technician, then you may have access to the relevant values in a spreadsheet or document file. In general, this information includes IP addresses, ports, timer values, Subscriber IDs, Talk Group IDs, and security keys.
This section provides instructions for obtaining the relevant information from the Linked Capacity Plus radio system if you do not have access to any other records of the system’s configuration.
Assumptions
The instructions in this section assume you have installed the Motorola CPS (Customer Programming Software) utility. If you do not have the CPS, then you must request a copy from Motorola. The CPS is used to program Linked Capacity Plus radios and repeaters. You must also have physical access to the Linked Capacity Plus radios and repeaters to download the code plug. The code plug is the file containing the configuration information for each radio system component. The following procedures require you to open the code plugs for your radio system in CPS and record specific values. You will not be making modifications to the code plug or saving it back to the radio components.
