Upgrading the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool and Channel Cluster to a new Software Release
Prerequisites:
- A previous version of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is operational.
- The PC on which the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is installed is connected to the MLC 8000 device for which new software is required.
When and where to use:
Use this procedure to upgrade the MLC 8000 Configuration tool and the entire channel cluster to a new release.
NoteAfter the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool upgrade, a separate folder is created for writable and configurable data,
C:\ProgramData\Motorola\MLC8000 CT\Data. Existing data is restored in this folder.
Procedure:
- Upgrade the configuration tool to the new release by installing the new software. See procedure Installing the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool Software Files.
- Upgrade the entire channel cluster to the new release. See process Upgrading the Entire Channel Cluster.
