Removing a Base Radio Port from a Digital Comparator
Prerequisites:
- The MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is operational. See procedure Opening the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool
- The channel cluster containing the base radio port you want to remove is open and the associated channel cluster tree is displayed on the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool main screen. See procedure Opening a Conventional Channel Cluster.
When and where to use:
Use this procedure when a particular base radio port should be removed from association with a digital comparator but not from the channel cluster tree. This procedure causes the base radio port that was previously assigned to the digital comparator to move into the list of unassigned base radios.Procedure:
- right-click the base radio port you want to remove from association with the digital comparator and click Configure Device.
The Modify Device Configuration window appears.
- Click the BR/Console Properties tab.
The fields related to base radio properties appear.
- Select the appropriate Port #.
- Set the Channel Name field to unassigned by selecting Unassigned from the drop-down menu.
- Click Write to Device.
A dialog box appears asking if you want to apply these changes.
- Click Yes.
The MLC 8000 Subsite Link Converter (AGU) restarts. The base radio port now displays in the list of unassigned base radios.
