Associating a Base Radio Transmitter to a Base Radio Receiver in the Voted (Receiver) Transmitter Steering Table
Prerequisites:
- The MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is operational. See procedure Opening the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool.
- The channel cluster for which you wish to update the transmitter steering table is open and displayed on the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool main screen.
- In the Analog Vote tab of the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator configuration screen, the Transmitter Steering parameter is selected. See Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for an IP Simulcast System and Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for a Non IP Simulcast System.
- A base radio list has already been assigned to the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU).
NoteThis procedure should be repeated until all base radios have the desired transmitter lists associated. At the end of the association process, the default association for a base radio receiver is
All BRs (all base radio transmitters). At the table configuration, a
Console entry is available, similar to the base radio receiver, which enables the Console default transmitter steering list associations.
When and where to use:
Use this procedure to:- Associate a base radio transmitters list to a base radio receiver when updating the transmitter steering table of an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator.
- View a Voted (receiver) transmitter steering table. For viewing, use steps 1 and 2 only.
Procedure:
- From the channel cluster tree displayed on the main menu of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool, right-click the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU) for which you want to update the steering table.
- Select Update Voted Transmitter Steering Table.
- In the right column, select the check box of the base radio you want to associate with the transmitter. The Select All check box is available in the lower-left corner.
- Click Associate Transmit BRs.
The Transmit BR Selection for Steering dialog box appears. A list of unassociated (to the previously selected receiver) base radio transmitters appear on the left side and the list of associated transmitters is on the right side.
- From the (Subsite) Transmit BR list, select all base radio transmitters that you wish to associate using the Ctrl key for multiple selections. Click Add.
- If necessary, from the Selected (Subsite) Transmit BR list, select the base radio transmitters that you want to unassociate using the Ctrl key for multiple selections. Click Remove.
A Remove Alloption is available to unassociate all transmitters with the previously selected base radio receiver.
- Click OK.
NoteRepeat steps 3 through 8 for the rest of the receivers to populate the transmitter steering table.
