Associating Base Radio Transmitters and Receivers (Region) to a Console Initiated TRC Function in the TRC Steering Table
This procedure provides the details for associating the BR transmitters and receivers for a region using the Regional Voting type on the Analog Vote tab of the MLC 8000 Comparator.
Prerequisites:
- The MLC 8000 Configuration Tool is operational. See procedure Opening the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool.
- The channel cluster for which you wish to update the transmitter steering table is open and displayed on the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool main screen.
- In the Analog Vote tab of the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator configuration screen, the Transmitter Steering parameter is selected and the Voting Type is set to Regional Voting. See Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for an IP Simulcast System and Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for a Non IP Simulcast System.
- In the BR/Console Properties tab of the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator configuration screen, the Console Keying Method is set to TRC. See Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for an IP Simulcast System and Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for a Non IP Simulcast System.
- In the Voting Operation Modes tab of the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator configuration screen, the TRC Control table, each of the TRC Functions that you want to associate in the steering table are assigned with a TRC Command value of Select Transmit Group. See Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for an IP Simulcast System and Configuring an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator for a Non IP Simulcast System.
The Modify Device Configuration Screen with TRC Control Table in the Voting Operation Modes Tab - A base radio list has already been assigned to the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU).
NoteThis procedure could be repeated until all
TRC Functions have the desired transmitters and receivers (regions) associated at the end of the association process. The default association for the
TRC Function is
All BRs (all base radio receivers and transmitters).
When and where to use:
Use this procedure to:- Associate base radio transmitters or receivers (a region) to a TRC Function of an MLC 8000 Analog Comparator.
- View TRC Function transmitters and receivers list. That is, the transmit list and receive region of the Console TRC steering table. For viewing, use steps 1 and 2 only.
Procedure:
- From the channel cluster tree displayed on the main menu of the MLC 8000 Configuration Tool, right-click the MLC 8000 Analog Comparator (VGU) for which you want to update the steering table.
- Select Update Console TRC Table.
- In the right column, select the check box of the TRC Function you want to associate with the transmitters or receivers. The Select All check box is available in the lower-left corner.
- To associate the transmitters to the selected TRC Functions, follow steps 4-6 in Associating Base Radio Receivers (Region) to a Base Radio Receiver in the Voted (Receiver) Transmitter Steering Table. Click OK.
- To associate the receivers (region) to the selected TRC Functions, follow steps 4-6 in Associating a Base Radio Transmitter to a Base Radio Receiver in the Voted (Receiver) Transmitter Steering Table. Click OK.
- Click Set Steering Group Name to assign a steering group name (alias) to the selected TRC Function.
- Click Apply.
The MLC 8000 Analog Comparator Console TRC steering table updates with associated transmitters and receivers lists (regions) and steering group names. Then, the window closes.
